Elementary Report Card Meeting – February 5, 2018
Elementary Principals are invited to attend a presentation on standards-based grading by Dr. Tim Westerberg, author of the book Charting a Course to Standards-Based Grading.
Date: February 5, 2018
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Place: ASB Auditorium
An elementary report card committee consisting of principals, parents, and teachers will begin the process of revising the elementary report cards. To begin this process, Dr. Westerberg will present an overview of current research regarding grading practices. Committee members will begin their work following this presentation.

Reminder: Literacy Promise Conference – March 28-30, 2018
The biannual Literacy Promise Conference is scheduled for March 28 – 30, 2018. There is an excellent lineup of presenters, including Doug Fisher. The Curriculum Department will pay the registration fee for one administrator per school. Please send registration forms to Amanda Hansen. Space is limited, so you’ll want to register as soon as possible. Flyers and registration forms are attached.
***NEW: The featured author keynote is James Dashner (Maze Runner series). Admission to his presentation on Wednesday evening, March 28, is FREE for everyone. Teachers are encouraged to invite students.

The project has been approved by the District Research Review Committee. The project deals with using concept models as an instructional planning tool in the development of science lessons.

Please preview the survey to review the list of teachers at your school to make sure the list is complete and accurate.

Camp Hobé 2018 – Volunteer Opportunity for School Professionals
Reminder - Positions are still open
Camp Hobé is currently recruiting volunteers for their summer camp sessions, including counselors and kitchen assistants. Volunteering for Camp Hobé is a great experience for anyone, but especially for school professionals such as teachers, assistants, administrators, or lunch workers. It's a great opportunity to interact with kids outside of the classroom (plus you get to throw water balloons!).
