We have an auction on PublicSurplus.com which will end on Tuesday, December 6th. It will be the last one before the Winter Break. Please take a look and see if there is anything you need for your building.

Also, just a reminder that your school needs to do their surplus paperwork and turn it in with all signatures if you want to be scheduled for pick up. Please do not delay in getting your paperwork in so that we can see how soon we can schedule our next surplus pick up.

As always, thank you for all your help and cooperation with this request.

Happy Holidays from Fixed Assets and the Surplus Warehouse

Secure Document Shredding

What do we do with confidential records that need to be shredded?

Records to be destroyed need to be retained in a secure place at your school. When you have accumulated more than 10 boxes, please contact Columbus Secure Document Solutions at 801-262-1588 to schedule pickup and disposal. We have established an Open Purchase Order to cover the cost of their services.

The following steps are critical as you prepare your records for pickup:

  1. Please remove records from loose leaf binders and hanging file folders. Only box materials that can be shredded.
  2. All confidential records / materials must be boxed, taped shut and visibly labeled as CONFIDENTIAL TO BE DESTROYED. Boxes that are not secured and labeled will not be accepted.
  3. Please collect boxed / labeled records in one central location.
  4. At the scheduled date and time, please have someone available to direct workers to where the boxes are for quick and efficient pick up.

For guidelines on records retention, please refer to District Policy Number DP367 – District Records Management and Number AS61 – Student Records.

We have released more items to Surplus Reallocation for the schools on PublicSurplus.com.  Please check to see if there are any items you may need at your schools.  This reallocation will run from 09/29/2016 to 10/13/2016 after which it will roll over to public auction.
Please remember to continue to send in all your surplus paperwork as you get it so that we can schedule pick ups as they are needed.  All paperwork needs to be signed by the principal and then sent up to your Area Administrator at the District Office.
If you have any questions, please contact Kris Wishart (801) 567-8709 or Corie Fuller (801) 567-8717.

Please be aware that all educators and administrators are required to click the 'Start' button to begin their evaluations (full or interim).  If teachers have not clicked the 'Start' button administrators will not see them under 'Evaluation of Others.'  Please contact the JES office if you have any questions."

Please be aware of the many flu shot clinics that have been scheduled in our schools this fall (see attachment). English and Spanish versions are included, for schools to post for their communities. Employees are welcome at all of the clinics. Please also note the clinics scheduled for the District Office and for the ASB. Have a healthy year!

In order to be consistent with Federal reporting guidelines, the threshold for coding purchases to equipment (object 730) or computer equipment (731) is increasing to $5,000.  Effective immediately, all purchases where a single item is less than $5,000 should be coded to 610 (supplies) or new object code 650 (technology supplies).  This change does not alter the purchasing threshold of required quotes for a single item >$1,000 or a group of items >$2,000 nor does it impact the items requiring asset tags.

The 2016-17 year will be a transition year.  Please do not change purchase orders already in Skyward or submit journal entries for past purchases.  Current budgets have not been modified.  Please code the purchases to the correct account, regardless of budget.  Schools will be able to transfer budget between equipment and supplies in December and June.  District departments and grant programs may make budget revisions in January to reflect current requirements.

Please contact Heather Ellingson (ext. 88388) with any questions.
