As we begin to prepare for the 2024-25 school year, we would like to collect our mid-year 6th grade Acadience and Growth Measure data as soon as possible. This will allow us to provide the data to middle school principals and counselors as they begin their 7th grade registration process in January.
Please advise your 6th grade teams to administer their mid-year Acadience and Growth Measure in December, with the deadline being Friday Jan. 12, 2024. The mid-year testing window for Growth Measure opened December 1, 2023.
The data we collect will inform the rubrics that we use as recommended guidelines for Reading placement. (See attached.) We appreciate your patience and collaboration in our efforts to use data to do what is best for students.
The Jordan Ethnic Advisory Committee, Language and Culture Services, and Equity Diversity and Inclusion cannot wait to see you at the annual "What I Wish You Knew Conference." This year the conferences will be acknowledging and highlighting our amazing administrative assistants.
Don't forget to run your home language report. It's time to make sure all students are screened and ready to learn. Your school goal should be zero students on your report.

New Features in Panorama and SEL Surveys
When using Panorama’s Student Success you are using an evidence-based tool for early-warning multi-tiered system of support. Recently Panorama hired a 3rd party research firm to do an impact study of Student Success. The study found that using Panorama Student Success was associated with learning gains on math and reading assessments during the 2022-23 school year. Schools with more actively engaged Panorama users had significantly higher end-of-year math and reading performance. The study met evidence requirements for ESSA Level II, which means title funds may be used to support Panorama. See this link for the full study.
Panorama has added a couple of exciting new features powered by AI.
Lastly, a reminder about the mid-year SEL Survey administration and window. The mid-year SEL Survey window will open on January 22, 2024 and close on February 16, 2024. Please follow the guidance provided on the August 10, 2023 JAM (found here) regarding SEL Survey windows and administration. Please share the SEL survey information with your survey coordinators.
Please submit concerns to be discussed by JAESP committee and cabinet by December 20, 2023. Send items to be discussed to Nick Hansen at Golden Fields, Ann Pessetto at Silver Crest or Kaleb Yates at Jordan Hills. All items are discussed anonymously as we work to provide clarification and solutions to concerns of elementary administrators.
Notes of the discussions will be published following the meeting on the Google Doc titled "JAESP committee notes 2023-24" shared previously with Elementary Administrators.
The BYU - Public School Partnership, which Jordan School District is a part, will celebrate its 40th Anniversary during 2024. As part of the anniversary celebration, there will be an Associates Reunion Conference. It will take place on Feb 6, 2024 at the Provo Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
We encourage past participants of Associates to attend and reignite your passion for the commitments. Please help your teachers who have participated in Associates to register and encourage them to sign up for a substitute ASAP.
The past participants of Associates will be emailed an invitation directly with the registration. Principals, please help teachers to attend by covering the cost of the registration and substitutes.

Guidelines to Establish Kindergarten Enrollment
It is the responsibility of each school to obtain a kindergarten roster for the upcoming school year. This roster helps facilitate kindergarten staffing and establish budgets for supplies and materials. Typically, efforts to establish kindergarten rosters begin in December. Enrollments for kindergarten should be promptly entered into Skyward so that projections accurately reflect enrollments. Schools must not keep external lists or delay entering kindergarten enrollments.
The following steps should be used to establish a kindergarten roster:
Optional Ideas:
Please be diligent in recruiting all the kindergarten students within your school boundary.
