Attendance – Winter Messages for Parents
Winter Messaging Toolkit
Stay the Course: Support Attendance in the Winter Months.
Click Here for Online Helps and Ideas: http://www.attendanceworks.org/tools/for-public-messaging/winter-messaging/
During the winter months, the bad weather and common illnesses that keep kids from getting to school can boost absenteeism. That is why during the winter months it is even more important to remind parents about the value of school attendance. Just missing two days each month, even if they are excused, can make it hard for children, starting in the early grades, to keep up with the learning in the classroom.

Lockdown Procedures for Portable Classrooms
There are times when portable classroom doors may be scheduled open/unlocked, such as during a class change. If an emergency were to occur that requires the school to go into a lockdown, the Lockout Card will need to be swiped on the Lockout Reader in the main office to override the door schedule and secure these classrooms. Please include this procedure while planning and drilling for emergencies that would require a lockdown.

It is recommended that a school administrator or custodian is in the building anytime it is occupied, in case of an emergency.
