The last three custodial workshops for this school year will be on January 15th, March 18th and May 20th in the ASB presentation room from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. These workshops serve to train all the Head Custodians, and to update any new information pertinent to their positions. In an effort to insure that these workshops are productive trainings, the Custodial/Energy Services Department would like to address any ongoing, widespread problems or concerns that you might have. Additionally we are also looking for positive examples of individuals that are doing things right.

  • If you are aware of any issues or concerns that you feel need to be addressed in this workshop, please let me know about them, so that they can be addressed.
  • As a department, we are very interested in recognizing any custodial staff members that are doing an exceptional job. If you have someone on your custodial staff that deserves some public recognition for the exceptional job they are doing, please let us know. We are hoping that by having very specific examples, we can use these examples as best practices in our custodial workshop training to improve the service provided by all Custodian in the District.
  • As always, I am also very interested in individual concerns or problems so that our office can help those individuals with their training needs in a more private setting.

Thanks!

As mentioned in Business Meeting, Support Services has put together a collection of tutorials for tasks that pertain to the operation of your school office.  These tutorials can be found using the Documentation link on the Information Systems Gateway (is.jordan.k12.ut.us).

In addition, our Support Analysts are available to come out to your school and train on Skyward tasks as needed, in either an individual or group setting.  If you would like to schedule training, please contact our help desk at (801) 567-8737, or Ext. 88737.

We have recently undergone some significant job shifting at the ASB that will affect the entire district and all should be aware of these changes.

Sandi Abplanalp has recently retired from the Card Access/Door Scheduling position.

We are pleased to announce that Matt Mears formerly of the facility rental office, was appointed to replace Sandi. He has assumed her old office number and may be reached at 801-567-8616. He will be handling all employee badges, card access and door schedules. We have a new procedure for employees requesting replacement badges. (See attached memo).

Lu Holt, formerly the administrative assistant in the facility rental office has been appointed to replace Matt as the facility rental/scheduler. Her office number is 801-567-8603.
