Clinical Support Specialists (Social Workers)
Each secondary school will have at least one half-time Clinical Support Specialist (Social Worker) for the 2022-23 school year. Each of these clinicians have a clinical mental health license and is expected to provide in-depth, targeted mental health services to high-need students at your school. They may conduct individual and group counseling, work with 504’s, and liaison between the school and outside mental health providers among other things.
In order to function in this role, each clinician will need the following:
- Private space or office to meet with students and parents regarding confidential matters
- Their own phone and computer with access to a printer
- Access to Skyward and Panorama as well as other school-wide electronic programs and tools
School Clinical Support Specialists (Social Workers) should function as a vital component of your MTSS team, school mental health team, as well as other PLC’s as you see fit.
